When you visit our website. Our hosting provider processes technical data needed to run and secure the website, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit.

Map on the contact page. Our contact page displays a map provided by OpenStreetMap. Your browser may load it automatically, which involves connecting to OpenStreetMap and may share technical information such as your IP address.

When you contact us. If you email us, call us or send us a message via Messenger, we process the details you give us yourself, such as your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.

When you stay with us. You can reserve a stay at Harbour Stay Volendam via Booking.com or contact us directly by phone or email. When you book via Booking.com, we receive the personal details needed to arrange your booking and stay, such as your name, contact details and dates of stay. If you contact us directly, we use the details you share with us to answer your question, discuss availability or arrange a booking. We are also required by law to keep a guest register. For this purpose we record the details of our guests that the law requires.

We only use your data to:

• answer your questions;
• arrange and provide your stay;
• meet our legal obligations, such as the guest register and our tax records;
• keep our website working properly and securely.

We do not use your data for marketing and we never sell it to anyone.

If you book via Booking.com, Booking.com is itself responsible for the details you enter there. The same applies to Meta if you send us a message via Facebook Messenger. For more information, please read the privacy policies of Booking.com and Meta.

We only share your data where necessary, for example with our hosting provider, our accountant, or with the authorities if we are legally required to do so.

We do not keep your personal data for longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:

• Messages and contact details: up to one year after our last contact, unless a longer retention period is necessary or legally required.
• Data in our financial records: seven years, as required by law.
• Data in the guest register: three years, unless a longer retention period applies under law or regulation.

Our website does not use tracking or marketing cookies. We only store small pieces of information in your browser that are needed for the website to work properly, for example when you close a notice. No consent is required for this.

We take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss and misuse.

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You can also object to the processing of your data, or ask us to restrict it. Please send your request to info@harbourstayvolendam.com. We will respond within one month.
